Movie Review of DIVERGENT
To be completely honest I am not usually drawn to a film that categorizes itself as an “action -adventure film”, boy am I glad I went against my instinct and decided to see this film. I believe Divergent is one of those films that has something for everyone, the hubby would love it for the non stop action, my teenage niece loved it for the love story and I can’t help but love it for its coming of age film qualities.
Coming-of-age films focus on the psychological and moral growth of its protagonist from youth to adulthood and Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) role certainly fit the bill. Early on in the movie she found out startling information about herself that not only altered her path in life, but completely rocked both hers and the world of all those around her. Divergent did an outstanding job of showing the evolution of a females transformation from a girl to a woman, which was done visually via wardrobe, emotionally through Shailene Woodley abilities as an actress and through awesome script writing.
Divergent Is A Must See
Let’s say it’s date night and you can’t decide what to see choose Divergent, I promise you neither party will be disappointed!
