Free Birds Trailer

In this hilarious, adventurous buddy comedy for audiences of all ages, directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!), two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the Thanksgiving menu for good.

Free Birds Moms

First let me say I won tickets to screen Free Birds and was not asked to review this film. The Mr. and I took our three and four-year old sons to see Free Birds because it seemed like it would be a cute movie that the boys would enjoy. And that is exactly what it turned out to be.There was a draw for each of the family members, I found it to be pretty funny and wasted not time in recommending my friends/followers see it via social media. The Mr. was really impressed by the quality of the character animation, as a Motion Graphic Designer he plays close attention to the details of animated films. He was so impressed that at his Monday morning meeting he suggested that his co workers take their children to view it. Check out the video below to see the boys take on the film.

Free Birds Boys Review

In all honesty there are very few animated films that excite me as an adult, and that is why I share my sons opinions on the family films we see. Because at the end of the day if they enjoy themselves (and the film doesn’t go against our moral values) that’s really all that matters.

The Wrap Up

The story was simple enough and held our sons attention, with the help of concessions. While Free Birds may not be an epic masterpiece, it’s totally enjoyable and family friendly. It has a few laugh-out-loud moments, decent character development, great animation and a couple of tear-jerking scenes. There’s also quite a few moral lessons such as appreciating your friends and family, giving up selfish desires and sacrificing yourself for the good of the majority. I couldn’t ask for much more.

What is a recent “Kid Movie” you have seen that you’ve enjoyed?
