Game On! The Ultimate Gamer Birthday Party was this years theme for my two boys! After taking a walk down memory lane and sharing with you their previous birthday parties Disney Cars Party Ideas #DIY, 4 Must Haves For A Sports Party and Party Ideas For Your Little Super Hero we finally decided to throw theme a video game theme party. My little guys are true gamers and I knew they would love it, but how to pull it off was the real problem. Naturally we thought of renting a gaming bus, but our small street wouldn’t support that so we found a great place to rent out that came fully stocked with every video game imaginable , 20+ TVs, tables chairs and yellow walls! So we simply added food, decor, and a whole lot of fun!
No party is complete without a dessert table and our party was no exception besides whats a gamers party without fuel! I was truly pleased with how most of the controller cookies came out. Hint: Just use cookie icing and mini M&M’s its difficult to transport cookies decorated with gel icing. But, nonetheless the cookies were a big hit.
It truly is awesome to be married to a designer because you get great signage like this at your events. And for my new readers, my boys are 10 days shy of being a year apart (birthday in same month) so for now I am lucky enough to celebrate their birthdays together!
I decided to stick with black and white with hints of yellow to balance out the yellow walls of the rental space. We had cute little “Level 6” and “Level 5” signs subtly reminding our guest how old the boys turned. Black and white balloons, table clothes and blown up remote controllers rounded out the decor.
Every year the hubby take on the cake and this cute Wii cake was a hit with both the boys. We had two one chocolate and one vanilla. Hint: Simply bake a regular 9×13 cake, cut it in half long ways, level it, stack it and decorate.
Everyone had a ball and we captured a ton of cute photos with our photo prop (again a perk of being married to a designer). You can get these gamer glasses from amazon!
We couldn’t end the birthday festivities without thanking our guest for attending. So we made these adorable cards and attached them to white chocolate Wii remotes for our guest as parting gifts!
We all have one, so whose the gamer in your life?
