Verizon invited a few metro Atlanta bloggers to a local store were a wireless expert shared some pretty awesome products and apps that can help entertain, organize and manage our families during the holidays and beyond. The most striking thing when I first entered the Verizon store was that I didn’t immediately see a phone nor a tablet. Instead, I was greeted by different zones from a Get Fit zone to a have Have fun zone, but my absolute favorite was the Home and On the Go zone. The Air Copy a wireless scanner and the Belkin Netcam HD Wi-Fi Camera quickly made their way to my wish list, mostly because of their ease of use and ability to simplify my life. If you haven’t visited Verizon lately you are in for a treat, because they are so much more than just a phone store!
Verizon HopeLine Program
In addition to learning about great new products and mingling with blogger buddies we also had the opportunity to learn about and give to Verizon HopeLine Program. Through HopeLine, the public can help prevent domestic violence by donating no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories in any condition from any service provider. Donated phones can help victims of abuse feel safer and less isolated by giving them a way to call emergency or support services, employers, family and friends. Phone donations given locally benefit victims of abuse within that geographic area. HopeLine also donates cash grants to nonprofit organizations to help fund education, programs, support services and community outreach.
