What Is Tanglewood Farms
Tanglewood Farm is nestled in the rolling hills of Cherokee County at the foot of the North Georgia mountains. We have a 10-acre Wild West Town with more than 100 inhabitants… all of them miniature farm animals! Named one of Atlanta’s best attractions by Turner South, Atlanta Magazine and Fodor’s Around Atlanta with Kids, Tanglewood is a wholesome family place where young and old can enjoy together a trip back to the past. Whether you are looking for a fun family outing, an educational place for school field trips or tours, corporate picnics, children’s birthday parties, or even a Western wedding, we are the perfect place for your next special event! In addition to petting and feeding our friendly animals, kids can enjoy pony rides and hay rides, seasonal arts and crafts demonstrations, and panning for gold and arrowheads.-Tanglewood Farms
A few weeks ago my sons and I decided to have a play date at Tanglewood Farms and we had a great time. I must admit we are not a very outdoorsy/animal loving family. So as you will be able to see in both the pictures and the video below my boys were a bit timid at first but by the end of our time were having a blast. For me the best part was how peaceful and beautiful it was. There is something about rolling green pastures, grazing horses and alpacas that put this mom in a great mood.
- Make sure to use the hand sanitizer supplied often.
- If going during the week get there early to maximize your time. (They are only open for 4 hrs).
- Don’t wear open toed shoes. LOL
- Bring lunch for your family to enjoy in the picnic area.
- There is a massive dog on property but he is harmless. No worries!
- Relax and ENJOY!
The family and I are looking forward to our next visit to Tanglewood Farms, which will be their Octoberfest. In addition to being able to feed and pet the 100 + miniature farm animals, we are delighted to pick pumpkins, venture into the “not-so-scary haunted barn” and lets not gorget the pony rides!
