We were fortunate enough to be invited to a screening of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2, which comes out this Friday September 27th. I was able to attend with my mothers support group, Mocha Moms Inc., which I am president of a local chapter North Cobb Mocha Moms. Honestly I had never seen nor heard of Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, but my men had and they were excited to see part two.
Seeing It The Boys Way
It was refreshing to see the boys formulate their own opinions of a shared experience.
Seeing It Moms Way
Prior to “interviewing” my little guys I thought everyone enjoyed the movie I certainly did. You may wonder how did I not know that my four-year old did not care for the movie. That can be answered in two parts, most mothers including myself base the success/failure of an outing off the number of meltdowns/lack thereof and this day there were no meltdowns. Even though we stood in line for nearly 30 minutes than sat in the theater for another 30 minutes before the film beginning. The second reason why I didn’t realize that my child didn’t share in my enthusiasm for the film, is because when we asked him he politely said he liked it. Notice the word polite we have recently been trying to teach them how to express themselves without being rude. Romee hasn’t quite mastered this, he either lies to spare someones feelings or he is brutally honest.
There were several laugh out loud moments that went way over my three & four-year old heads, but was obviously there to entertain the adults. There was a heavy dose of moral lessons including being a good friend, teamwork, integrity, being confident in you talents and to look for the good in those around you. All things that a parent would want to instill in their little ones.
Spoiler Alert:
Allow me to address the “scary characters” my son mentions the Burger & the Taco. These characters are initially a bit aggressive, but it goes on tho show that they were simply scared and was trying to protect their families from the true villains in the movie and once shown compassion was anything but dangerous.
So all though one of my little men claims not to like the movie because of its semi scary characters take it from this mom Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 is a must see. Parents can be confident that the movie is not only entertaining, but provides some moral lessons for the old and young alike!
Disclosure: I received tickets to the screening of the movie as a member of Mocha Moms Inc., but was not required to review it nor was I compensated. As always our opinions are 100% our own.

ok, first of all those boys are too CUTE!! I can hardly stand it, thy’er so cute, I LOVE it. I think having the kids do a review is a fantastic idea, it’s easy to forget that they see things a lot differently than we do. My kids are 12 and 13, so they would get the jokes. We’ve seen the commercials and the whole family wants to see the movie.
Great review
